Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday

On this Sunday many all over the world will participate in the commemoration service of Easter Sunday.  This is the day Jesus was resurrected from the grave.

Note: This is the first full moon after the vernal equinox (the beginning of Spring).  There is a festival for the goddess of fertility and spring.  This festival name was adopted by the Anglo-Saxon Christians.  They also adopted many of their practices in which they celebrated for the Mass of Jesus' resurrection.

Many agree that Jesus came to pay the ultimate price.  Let's think about it for a moment…the ULTIMATE price.

What does this mean?

The ultimate price, the final amount, cost or fee for us all.  If…no, because this is the case there must be an understanding of what this means.  It says nothing else is owed; nothing else is due.  PAID IN FULL!  What did He pay for?  In 1 Peter 2:24 it reads, who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Jesus carried our sins in himself and every sin that could be committed by man was nailed to the cross.  To them who believe in the death burial and resurrection, there is no sin they must fall prisoner to.  Think of it like this.  There is an airborne pathogen in your house which makes anyone who enters your home to get sick and die.  But you, being the governing body over the home go in and suck all the disease producing agent into your body.  As a result, you die.  Now it is safe for others to enter your home if they choose to.  Although the airborne pathogen is still outside of your home, it is not inside your home.  A safe environment was created for others at the cost of your life.  When others believe that the home is safe and make the choice to enter in, they are no longer at risk of being sick if they remain inside the house.  This is what Jesus did for us.  He made a safe environment for us to no longer have to suffer from sin.  Yet, sadly, many still do.

Every pain inflicted on Him was so we wouldn't have to be in pain.  Without the wisdom, knowledge or understanding of what took place on Calvary, many are needlessly suffering and dying.  Again, Easter is celebrated because of what Jesus did?  Truthfully, it's not.  It is part of the CME membership group.  Those who attend the building called church on Christmas, Mother's Day and Easter.  It is a day for children to say their Easter speeches.  This is the time where reenactments of the Crucifixion are happening all over the world.  The time for sunrise service, egg hunts, dinners on the grounds, and many other traditional activities take place.  While they still choose not to accept that the price has already been paid.

The part of the verse in 1 Peter 2:24 that says, …by whose stripes ye were healed, plays a major role in what happened on that 'ole' rugged cross.  For all the suffers of chronic diseases, allergies, MS, ADHD, osteoporosis, diabetes, lung disease, cancer, hearing loss, joint pain, heart disease, malnutrition, gum disease, arthritis, glaucoma, high cholesterol, migraines, depression, bipolar, etc.  This is just a small list of what was nailed to that cross many say they cherish so much.  On this day called Easter Sunday, many will wake up on the outside of the house.  On the outside where there is no safety from the deadly air borne pathogen called sin.  They will dress up, pray, sing, and thank God, as they slowly die.  They are under the impression that all is well because safety has been provided for them.  But here’s the thing: no one is safe unless they are in the place of safety.

As I, pen this, my heart is saddened because on this day people all over the world will gain a false sense of security.  Here's why.  There will be leader after leader talking about how "He is risen, He is risen!" as they forget to say "Receive what He has done and take up your cross and follow Him."  In reading what Jesus went through to pay for my sins, I am thankful.   He afforded me the opportunity to not have to go through another day afflicted with pain, suffering, or trouble.  If I stay in the place of safety, He paid for me to have, I will be free from those things in the world.  In John 16:33 Jesus lets us know the world is not a safe place to be free from suffering.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

He conquered everything that hinders you from being healed.  If He is in you, then you have conquered it as well.  This question remains at the forefront of my mind: if you being sick or bound receive the place of safety, why are you still suffering with (whatever your issue)?  I am thankful for the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to know that as I stay in the safe place provided for me, I acknowledge, accept, and apply the resurrection to my life daily.  I remain from the deadly pathogenThan called sin.

It is our duty to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ every day.  The best way to do so is to stay free from sin.  Why would you pay for what has already been paid for, for you?
