Patience is Necessary

Patience is Necessary

It is said 'patience is a virtue', but how often is it understood that patience is necessary?  It is the ability to endure, forbear, or tolerate.  The need for patience is vital to the lives of believers.  Jesus said in Him we have peace.  The ability to remain calm at all times shows peace at work.  The lack of patience can disrupt your peace.  Then we are faced with situations which require staying power, patience comes in handy.  The first response to a moment of difficulty should be one that produces you having a smooth disposition.  This type of mindset can only occur when your mind is in the right place.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Isaiah 26:3

So often the chaos produced in one's life is due to impatience.  Being patient gives you time to think, you don't move on impulse, nor emotions.  Without patience, it is easy to be angered and annoyed.  When you allow patience to have her perfect work, (James1:4) you can keep going.

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience, and to patience godliness.  2 Peter 1:6

It is sad to say that some of the most disgruntle, rude, and pushy people call themselves Christians.  Being patient does not mean that anything goes, it does however mean you are aware of your actions in every situation.  It becomes easy to assess and implement the proper response when you are patient.

Patience is a boot camp exercise.  It breaks down your faith in self as well as others as it builds up your faith in God.  As you are faced with troubles and you look to God for resolution, you are guaranteed not to fall into that trouble.  Why?  Because when trusting God, your action is delayed and denied as you await God's response to the issue.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; knowing this; that the trying of your faith worketh patience.  But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.  James 1:2-4

The lack of patience will cause you to act of character or the losing of one's self.  Patience is necessary for you to appear holy before the father.  Before you act, allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you so that patience will produce righteousness.  Your virtue becomes visible when you are patient.
